flagship wine, the Brother John May Reserve Release Shiraz. This label honours the stellar career of Sevenhill’s Jesuit Winemaker Emeritus, Brother John May, SJ AM.
Brother May served as Sevenhill’s seventh Jesuit winemaker from 1972 to early 2003. The Reserve Release Shiraz is picked from a single block, recognised for producing high-quality fruit from low-yielding vines that were planted by Brother May in his very early days at Sevenhill.
Deeply intense red berry fruit, combines with a rich and layered palate of cassis and a hint of eucalyptus to produce a more fragrant and slightly herbaceous version of this wine. Cedary French oak flavours and lingering fine-grained tannins give this wine nice length and balance.
